September 1st - Free FEMA CERT Emergency Response Training in Houston
BakerRipley is offering a free Community Emergency Response Team, or CERT, training program in Houston beginning September 8, 2026. The training is based on a Federal Emergency Management Agency program that teaches everyday residents how to respond during emergencies and disasters when professional first responders may be delayed or overwhelmed.
The training is free and open to the public.

Participants learn about disaster preparedness, rescuer safety, helping victims, organizing volunteers, responding as part of a neighborhood or workplace team, and providing assistance until professional responders arrive.
This training may be especially useful for people interested in public health, community health work, emergency management, nonprofit work, community outreach, security, disaster response, or other careers where emergency preparedness can be valuable.
CERT is not a healthcare license or professional healthcare certification, but it can provide practical emergency-response experience and additional training to discuss on your resume.
