The Regional Community Builder will build and maintain relationships with organizations in which they are housed within specific geographic regions across United Way's four county regional footprint. The incumbent will primarily focus on assigned geographic region(s) and build out a formalized process to include community voice in the process. They will work closely with the Mission and Strategy team to ensure appropriate training and relationship-building across organizations and systems to achieve the highest level of impact within each region.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides oversight and ensures consistency of the Integrated Client Journey (ICJ). Works closely with organizations in the community to build regional networks and bring organizations together, ensuring there is a seamless approach to accessing services across the ICJ. Identifies and builds relationships with key stakeholders in the region(s). Identifies needs and service gaps in the ICJ and seeks solutions to fill those gaps.
  • Provides cross-functional collaboration for planning and implementation within Mission and Strategy and other departments:
  • Continuously improves knowledge and expertise: Seeks out and utilizes research and other current information and resources to stay abreast of latest data on ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed), their challenges, and practices to remove barriers and move towards goals.
  • Constituent Relationships: Works with UWGH’s Donor Relations and Brand teams to identify, develop and implement opportunities to communicate work, UWGH goals and priorities to constituents.

Qualifications

Education

Required

Bachelors or better in Nonprofit Administration or related field.

Experience

Required

3-5 years: Experience working in communities through community development or community building. Knowledge of the Greater Houston community, government and nonprofit sector required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Strong performance management and evaluation capabilities including the willingness and ability to ensure accountability. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships both inside and outside the organization.
