The Director of Business Development reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and is responsible for the marketing, referral development and public relations of Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute. The Director plays a key role in strategic planning and the identification of new market opportunities and will perform their duties in accordance with all applicable standards and facility policies and procedures.


  1. Promote the facility to develop appropriate census.
  2. Gather market information and utilize to develop and implement marketing strategy and identify new product opportunities.
  3. Provide supervision and direction to department staff in order to accomplish organizational goals.
  4. Serve as central repository and disseminator of facility information.
  5. Uphold the mission, vision and values of the organization.
  6. Serve as a resource to help manage relations with funding sources through excellent customer service.
  7. Provide market intelligence that will help facilitate a competitive rate structure and increase client access to the facility.
  8. Maintain the confidentiality of staff and clients in the performance of duties.
  9. Communicate effectively with internal and external constituents.
  10. Ensure effective utilization of organizations resources when determining promotional and marketing opportunities.
  11. Manage internet and social media outlets for all Moody Neurorehabilitation facilities in accordance with companys policies.


  1. Promotion - Implement marketing/referral development plans for Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute including but not limited to:
  • Collateral materials - Brochures, flyers, logos, business cards, letterhead, envelopes, etc.
  • Direct sales Develop target marketing and market segmentation strategies. Supervise account representatives in their referral development activities.
  • Ad specialties - Procurement and coordination.
  • Conference Exhibition Maintain suitable and effective conference exhibits. Evaluate previous conference exhibits and related referral\admission activity. Develop a conference schedule based on this evaluation for the next year. Coordinate the execution of this plan attending and exhibiting personally as appropriate
  • Advertising Implement advertising plan as conceived and budgeted at the beginning of each fiscal year.
  • Educational conferences Implement the plan for attending and sponsoring conferences as conceived and budgeted.
  • Direct mail - Produce and distribute direct mail pieces as needed.
  • Media - Maintain and optimize the Moody Neurorehabilitation website and social media platforms. Develop press releases. Produce and maintain the facility video overview. Produce and maintain the facility CD overview.
  • Speakers Bureau Develop and manage CEU accreditation process and presentation coordination. Provide CEU presentations upon request. Provide certificates to participants for CEU submission.
  • Tours - Ensure that site tours are conducted which will help promote the organizations ability to provide care to acquired brain injury patients.
  1. Information
  • Activities reports Provide reports for general staff meeting each month and weekly on current census status against goals.
  • Annual report - Provide annual operating results for budgetary review and departmental goals
  • Salesforce Ensure effective utilization of Salesforce including gathering and analyzing data on referral and admission activity for use in targeting the marketing and sales efforts.
  • Information\Referral inquires Provide information as requested.
  • Facility-wide photography - Coordinate for various departments and activities.
  1. Department Staff
  • Supervise and evaluate activities of Business Development staff supporting facilities in Galveston and Lubbock.
  • Job descriptions - Ensure accurate and current job descriptions that can be used to fairly evaluate performance and compensation.
  • Staffing -Ensure adequate number and type of staff to accomplish census goals.
  • Training - Ensure staff are adequately trained to represent the facility well and provide assessments in a timely manner.
  • Resources - Ensure staff have adequate knowledge, organizational assistance, resources, and collateral materials to achieve success.
  1. Organizational
  • Budget - Provide departmental budget during the facility planning cycle with an eye toward increasing the efficiency of the marketing effort at Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute.
  • Forms - Design and/or revise various forms for applications for admissions, marketing, referral data, etc.
  • Service Engage with industry and community related organizations assigned by the CEO.
  • Internal media support - Coordinate the videotaping of graduations, therapies etc.
  • Policies and Procedures Develop, implement and maintain organizational policies and procedures in accordance with CARF and other accrediting or licensing bodies as needed.
  • Conduct - Discharge duties in accordance with Moody Neurorehabilitation Institutes organizational policies, CARF standards and other licensing bodies.
  • Confidentiality - Maintain staff and client confidentiality with HIPAA compliant disclosure and releases.
  1. Program Development New capacity or capability
  2. Take initiative and work with key stakeholders to facilitate new or evolving capabilities which will better position Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute in the marketplace. Other duties and requirements
  • Special events - Coordinate and/or support special events
  • Training - Maintain facility required training in CPI.
  • Other duties - As assigned by CEO.
