Coordinator, Special Programs - Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences

Oversees and coordinates all phases and activities of a particular program(s) in areas including but not limited to; community relations, research or student recruitment programs.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Plans, coordinates, and administers special educational related research or community programs in conjunction with a variety of external agencies.
- Plans and coordinates small to large scale events and/or conferences. Includes setting up schedules, locations, tours, speakers/visitors, food and room layout.
- Creates publicity materials, brochures, advertisement material and publicizes for special research programs and projects.
- Interacts extensively with the public and/or external organizations, patients, staff, students, and faculty to facilitate and educate department about special research programs and projects.
- Builds relationships both internally and externally to develop contacts, promote and achieve the program goals.
- Assists patients with assessments to triage for possible program eligibility for public services.
- Data entry for systems to track information relevant to department based programs, provide reports and updates to director and department leadership.
- Ensures that plan and protocols are followed to ensure compliance with all federal, state laws and UTH policies and rules and regulations.
- Keeps abreast of activities, news, and other general information in areas of program specialty.
- Other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience:
Two years of related experience.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive:
This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
