Under the direction of the President and Dean of Student Services of the Health Science Center of Excellence, provide support to college administrators, program directors, faculty, college staff, students and external group. Coordinate admissions processing for all HCC Coleman College health science programs and special projects, including but not limited to Eagle (Early) Alert.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Coordinate the admission, ranking process as it applies to all students within each HCC Coleman Health Science program;
  2. Interact with students, staff, faculty and community members to provide information, solve problems, and respond to requests related to selective admissions at HCC Coleman and Eagle Early Alert;
  3. Support management in the development of comparative statistical data related to HCC Coleman Admissions and District wide Eagle Alert program;
  4. Coordinate ongoing communication with applicants through written correspondences, campus appointments, and timely and consistent feedback to applicants;
  5. Serve as the liaison with Instructional Division, IT, OIR, and Communication departments to ensure publication of accurate and relevant data related to HCC Coleman and Eagle Alert;
  6. Execute quality control measures related to Health Science admissions and Eagle Alert processing;
  7. Work closely with program directors, prospective students, and district-wide advisors to communicate college program information, admission requirements, and other essential admission information to interested parties;
  8. Assist with maintenance of HCC Health Science COE webpages, design, distribute Eagle Alert newsletter, and coordinate Eagle Alert trainings across all colleges;
  9. Prepare reports, maintain admission records, and Eagle Alert activities and report results of these activities;
  10. Assist in the development of Eagle Alert Recognition Program and instrument(s) to track Eagle Alert Activities across HCC; and
  11. Develop and actively contribute to a respectful workplace environment, build constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, exhibit tact and diplomacy, and show sensitivity to the thoughts and opinions of others.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Bachelor degree required.

 

EXPERIENCE

Three (3) years higher education work experience required. Experience with health sciences admissions and student services preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Knowledge of health sciences programs including program length capacities, and application deadlines and admission policies and process;
  2. Proficiency with use of email, word-processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, and Internet;
  3. Ability to be self-directed, task-oriented, and detail-oriented;
  4. Demonstrated competence in problem solving and critical thinking skills;
  5. Sensitivity to the needs and expectations of students, colleagues, and community groups, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
