Partner Services maintains relationships with over 600 hunger-relief organizations in 18 counties that distribute food and non-food resources to families in southeast Texas. Community Partner Liaisons are responsible for maintaining smooth operations of all day-to-day Partner Services functions and providing community partners the support needed to move towards HFB's vision of "a world that doesn't need food banks". This position provides excellent customer service and technical assistance to partners on a daily basis. This position is responsible for community engagement, customer service and compliance visits, issue resolution and problem solving, and the on-going training of partners. This position maintains relationships with various community collaborators and provides exceptional customer service and support to all internal and external stakeholders. Staff in this position must be passionate about helping others and believe in HFB's mission of Food for Better Lives.

Job Duties/Responsibilities: 

Responsible for maintaining communications with current and prospective partners

  • Partner recruitment, training and capacity development
  • Community engagement and advocacy
  • Partnership management, communication and problem-solving
  • Updates and maintains Partner Services policies and procedures
  • Provides the primary customer service to the assigned partner caseload
  • Update CERES database regarding the status of the agencies
  • Conduct trainings, i.e. orientation, food safety workshops, agency conference
  • Participate in Share Your Holidays Food Drive
  • Provide Partner relations and member support
  • Identify potential community resources for partner agencies
  • Volunteer supervision and training


  • Document information related to partners in electronic system files, and accounts tracking system
  • Provide written reports and letters as needed
  • Transition partners to Link2Feed or system for client intakes
  • Assist partners with meetings and additional training as needed

 Assume responsibility for other related duties as required or assigned

  • Assist department with miscellaneous tasks as assigned
  • Participate in partners community immersion project, town Hall meetings and Co-Ap meetings
  • Partner Portal implementation with assign case load

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field plus 1-3 years of closely related experience, or 3 years of closely related experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of database reporting, proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook


  • Strong customer service skills and willingness to assist others
  • Able to communicate complex information clearly
  • Self-starter/self-motivated (dependable, innovative, and independent)
  • Ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds (diverse client population, community organizations, as well as staff at all levels)

  • Able to work cooperatively and coordinate well with other departments, personnel, volunteers and clients
  • Able to speak to a large group of people and train them on specific tasks
  • Ability to operate computers, copier and other business equipment
  • Ability to organize work, time, and self
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and complying with deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Able to operate forklift with proper training
