The primary purpose of the EAP Specialist position is to provide a variety of Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services to employees and other eligible users. Responsibilities include all clinical and administrative activities necessary to assist employees seeking help with personal and work related concerns. The EAP Specialist also engages in other activities/initiatives to assist management and support the goals of MD Anderson.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
EAP Client Assessment / Case Management Conducts confidential and timely problem identification/assessment for employees who have work or personal concerns that may affect job performance and for other eligible clients. Provides short-term assistance, case monitoring, and follow-up services to assist employees with work and personal concerns and help maintain a safe and productive workplace.
Behavioral Health Management Activities Provides assistance and consultation to management, Human Resources, and others seeking to manage the troubled or impaired employee, cope with workplace trauma, maintain a safe work environment, and improve job performance.
Employee training and support activities Provides orientations about EAP services, conducts related employee training, and participates in various activities and initiatives within Human Resources and MD Anderson.

REQUIREMENTS
Education: Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field.
Preferred Education: None
Certification: Licensed by the State of Texas to practice as a mental health professional at the independent level of practice or must obtain license within 180 days of hire date.
Preferred Certification: CEAP
Experience: Five years of professional mental health experience preferably providing EAP or related services.
